TheICircle — Summary of Key Obligations & Expectations
This page provides an overview of the key terms applicable to Hosts registered with TheICircle. It does not replace the Host Agreement, which governs the full legal relationship between TheICircle and each Host. By registering as a Host, you confirm that you have read and agreed to the Host Agreement.
1. Who Is a Host
A Host is an individual or household that offers accommodation to international students through the TheICircle platform. Hosts are vetted through our internal selection process and must meet the standards set out in the Host Agreement before any Student is placed with them.
2. The Hosting Arrangement
Hosts provide accommodation — and, where agreed, meals — to Students for a defined period. The arrangement is not a tenancy or lease. The Student is a temporary guest of the Host, and the relationship is governed by the Host Agreement and Booking Terms. Key features include:
accommodation must meet the standards described in the Host Agreement, including standards of cleanliness, privacy, safety, and comfort;
Hosts are responsible for complying with all applicable local laws and regulations in relation to hosting;
any changes to the agreed accommodation or household arrangements must be communicated to TheICircle promptly.
3. Host Payments
Hosts receive a monthly hosting fee for each Student placed with them. Payments are processed by TheICircle in accordance with the payment schedule set out in the Host Agreement. Hosts acknowledge that:
payment is conditional on the Student remaining in the placement;
TheICircle acts as the payment intermediary and is not responsible for delays caused by banking or third-party payment providers;
any disputes regarding payments must be directed to TheICircle in accordance with the Host Agreement.
4. Host Responsibilities
As a registered Host, you are responsible for:
providing a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for your Student;
adhering to the house rules and standards set out in the Host Agreement;
notifying TheICircle of any issues, concerns, or incidents involving your Student without undue delay;
maintaining appropriate insurance coverage for your property and household.
TheICircle does not accept liability for any damages, losses, or disputes arising from the Host–Student relationship. Hosts agree to indemnify TheICircle against any claims arising from their own conduct or breach of the Host Agreement.
5. Cancellation by Hosts
Cancellation of a confirmed booking by a Host may have financial and operational consequences as set out in the Host Agreement and the Refund & Cancellation Policy. Hosts are encouraged to review those documents carefully before confirming any placement.
6. Data & Communications
Host personal data is processed in accordance with the TheICircle Privacy Policy. Hosts consent to receiving communications from TheICircle relating to placements, payments, and platform updates.
7. Full Host Agreement
This page is a summary only. The complete Host Agreement — which contains all binding terms and conditions — is provided to each Host upon registration and is available on request. For any questions, please contact:
